LEESBURG -- Tim Edfors has done miracles with the volleyball team at Webber International University.
The
program was 6-23 the year before he became the Warriors' coach three
years ago, and he led the Warriors to a 29-6 record, the best in school
history, and an NAIA national ranking during the season.

Edfors
has an eye for volleyball talent, and he thinks Leesburg senior middle
blocker Heather Allshouse can help his program maintain its success.
Allshouse, who is 6 feet 1, signed Wednesday with the Warriors.
She
was an important member in what became the best volleyball season in
Leesburg's history this past fall. The Yellow Jackets were 14-8 this
season and went further in the state playoffs -- the region semifinal --
than ever before. Allshouse led Leesburg with 38 blocks and was third
with 74 kills.
"I really liked the way the coach [Edfors]
interacted with the girls on the team," Allshouse said about her visit
to the team and the school's campus in Babson Park.
Edfors first
contacted Allshouse last summer when he was putting together a
collection of volleyball players to travel to Hawaii for a tournament.
Although Allshouse had other commitments and couldn't go, it opened
communications between the two.
"I have been playing volleyball
for seven years in a row, and as my senior year came around, I knew I
wanted to play volleyball in college," Allshouse said. "After my high
school season was finished and club season came, I knew I wanted to play
in college."
Allshouse plays with the Lake County Juniors program.
