Jessica Brady Hired as New Volleyball Assistant, July 2010



SPARTANBURG, S.C.-  Jessica Brady has been named the new assistant volleyball coach at Converse College, as announced by head volleyball coach Regina Schantz and Director of Athletics, Joy Couch.

Jessica comes to Converse College after an impressive collegiate career at Carson-Newman College in Jefferson City, TN where she finished in the top ten for highest hitting percentage in school history. 

“I am ecstatic and thankful for the opportunity that Converse College has given me,” stated Brady. 

 “I want to thank Joy Couch, Coach Regina Schantz, and all of the Converse family.  I am excited to work alongside Coach Schantz and contribute to the building of this program.”


 Brady, a native of Fruitland Park, FL attended Leesburg High School in Leesburg, FL and Lake-Sumter Community College before playing at Carson-Newman College.  She helped the Eagles to a South Atlantic Conference runner-up finish and a NCAA National Tournament bid while playing at Carson-Newman.

“Jessica has experience playing volleyball at the Division II level and in coaching,” said Schantz.  “She is a great communicator and she knows the game. I am excited to watch her grow as a coach.”

The Lady Jackets Volleyball team throttled Lecanto 15-1, 15-8. Alicia Carpenter and Robin Denson pounded five kills apiece and Tosha Moyer added 17 digs as Leesburg's girls ripped Lecanto in girls volleyball. The Lady Jackets record nows stands at 7-4, Lecanto 8-4.

Carlisle Leads Leesburg Over Mount Dora, 2006



MOUNT DORA - Waneta Carlisle had 13 kills, 10 digs five blocks Tuesday to lead the Leesburg High School volleyball team past Mount Dora 3-1 (25-18, 25-23, 24-26, 25-16) in their non-district match.

Chelsea Luttfring added seven kills, 19 assists and 11 digs. Alisha Hoffman had 13 assists, 13 digs three aces and two blocks. Kaylee McMahan had 10 digs for the Jackets (3-0)

Leesburg travels to Gainesville at 6 p.m. Thursday.

Kara Brooks paced Mount Dora (3-4) with 17 kills.

Johnna Quattelbaum had 17 service points. Marla Seidelman had 24 assists and Alicia Garry added 10 digs.

Mount Dora hosts Umatilla at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

Lady Jackets Sweep Umatilla 3-0, August 23, 2006



UMATILLA - Chelsea Luttfring had nine aces and five digs Tuesday to lead Leesburg past Umatilla 3-0 (25-23, 25-15, 25-12) in its season opener.

Kara Colborne also had five digs for the Yellow Jackets.

Waneta Carlisle added four blocks, Alisha Hoffman had 12 assists and Latoya Foster and Heather Allshouse led the team in kills.
